I'm excited to announce to be partnering with Welly Merck! They are a watch company focused on elegant, minimalistic designs, with interchangeable bands to fit your style! Welly Merck offers customization with laser engravings on the back of the case for personal or gifting options (Father's Day is coming up!). DISCOUNT CODE: TRISH15 for a limited time ONLY! COLLABORATION When I was contacted by Jasmine to collaborate with them, I had never heard of their company before. Of course, before diving into any partnerships, I did my research. I searched their Instagram page, previewed some of the other collaborators, read reviews online, and I also asked Jasmine directly. Everything seemed to check-out. What sold me was Jasmine's responsiveness and willing to answer questions--that, already is a good sign that they were not some scammer company. The exchange of emails went well with clear, direct instructions as a potential collaborator. I picked the watch I want to showcase, and it was quick to arrive in the mail. THE WATCH
The Classic New York I am absolutely in-love with the watch. The packaging is perfect and meets the minimalistic aesthetic of the brand. The outside box is a nice mint green and the case is a nice leather material. Do you guys keep your watch cases? I don't, but this one I might because it's so well made. The watch itself has a mesh, rose gold band. The face of the watch is black with contrasting rose gold dial. There is a similar design in which the face of the watch is white, but I chose the black because the two-tone gives it a more edgy look. The watch is very well-made; it has a nice weight to it--not cheap at all. The face of the watch is made of sapphire crystal glass--impossible to scratch. The attention to detail is amazing, from the "W" logo on the buckle, to the location of the crown (the thing that you wind to set the time). It's placed in the 4 o'clock position so it doesn't dig into your wrist. GENIUS! What's great about this watch is that it's basically a "one size fits all." The mesh band is easily adjustable (no arbitrary holes or links!). I'm definitely going to buy more watches. I collect watches, but I make sure that they are of quality design. They make a great statement piece and completes every outfit--yes, i wear watches that don't work, why not? Welly Merk is a luxury brand of watches, so you'll only expect the best quality, but at an affordable price. Visit their website for more designs at www.wellymerck.com ~Trish

DISCLAIMER: I'm not a photographer, graphic designer, or anything near that. Take advice and suggestions from this entry at your own risk. I'm not responsible for underwhelmed and dissatisfied experiences. Lately, I've been into trying to achieve some sort of aesthetic to my Instagram feed---it just looks nicer that way. I don't use the full Adobe Photoshop. For one, I don't have the patience. Secondly, I just don't know how to use it, and I've never learned how to use it. I tried, cried, and it was over. I edit my photos through my phone using the mobile version of Photoshop--Photoshop Express. It's easier that way because I take photos with my phone, and I just don't own a fancy camera. Photoshop Express (PS) is great because it's very simple and straightforward. I've tried other photo editors, and their settings are not as detailed and broken-down as Photoshop Express. PS has a lot more settings you can play with. There are also some awesome filters, but I'd rather edit to personalize my photos. Here are the settings I use to fit the aesthetic of my Instagram feed:
Sharpness Clarity Shadows Blacks Vibrance I don't have the exact -/+ for each setting because it really all depends how under/overexposed a picture is. I'll just mess around with it until I'm happy with the edits. Valentine's Day is tomorrow, and what better way to celebrate it than with good ol' Mr. Cuppa Joe. Here's how to make a beautiful Valentine's latte. Note: If you don't have a frother, you can use a french press. What you need: 1. Freshly brewed coffee 2. milk (whatever kind of milk floats your boat) 3. Starbucks Caramel Syrup (or vanilla extract, if you're not into Starbucks) 4. Pink and/or red crystal decorative sugar (if you want to make it look fancy) 5. Whipped cream (again, fancy factor) 6. Red food coloring (this one is ACTUALLY important) 7. Clear coffee mug (fancy factor AND important) Step 1: Measure your liquids. It's all eyeballing. You're only going to use 1/3 of your coffee mug for the brewed coffee and the rest is milk. Set the coffee aside in something you can pour with later (like a liquid measuring cup or something like it) and place the milk in a sauce pan. Step 2: Add 3 pumps of Starbucks Caramel Syrup and 3 drops of red food coloring. Heat the mixture BUT NOT TO BOIL! Step 3: Once the milk mixture is hot (but NOT boiling), pour it in a french press. If you have a frother, go ahead and froth it in the saucepan (ya fancy). Swiftly go up and down with the french press for about 30 seconds. You'll notice the milk mixture start to foam. Step 4: Once you have frothed the milk mixture, remove the french press lid and pour it in your coffee mug. Step 5: Now, the coffee that you had set aside will SLOWLY, emphasis on SLOWLY, be poured in the coffee mug. Use the round end of the spoon to help pour it slowly. Step 6: Whip out that whipped cream and sprinkle the pink sugar crystals!!
